It is where theory meets the pressure of a real caseload, where clinicians learn to trust their judgment without becoming careless, stay curious without becoming unsure, and see the systems operating around every client.
Dr. T. Young Nehme, EdD, LCSW
Dr. Young Nehme is a California Licensed Clinical Social Worker, educator, and clinical supervisor whose career has crossed nearly every major setting in which social workers practice. Her experience includes child welfare, behavioral health, public health, services for Veterans, federal correctional settings, K–12 schools, private practice, community programs, and higher education.
Her work has also included program leadership and the clinical supervision of associate clinicians. At Ember & Theory, supervision is more than signing hours; it is a place to examine the work beneath the work and become the clinician you intend to be.

Build the cadence your clinical hours require.
Associates providing more than 10 hours of direct clinical counseling in one setting during a week may need an additional supervision unit. Second-unit membership pricing will be shown here before enrollment opens.
Membership fees are paid monthly in advance and are non-refundable. Missed supervisee sessions are not refunded or automatically made up. Supervisor cancellations are rescheduled or otherwise replaced.

Who is supervision for?
California Associate Clinical Social Workers (ASWs), Associate Marriage and Family Therapists (AMFTs), and Associate Professional Clinical Counselors (APCCs) who are earning hours toward licensure.
Why a monthly membership?
Supervision works best as a steady professional relationship, not a series of disconnected appointments. Your monthly membership fee reserves your recurring space and remains consistent across four-week, five-week, and holiday months.
What if I need supervision twice a week?
A second weekly supervision unit is available for associates whose clinical schedule requires it. We will confirm that the arrangement fits your work setting, hours, and Board requirements during your consultation.
Is this therapy?
No. Good supervision makes room for the person doing the work, but its purpose is your clinical practice, professional development, ethical decision-making, and care of your clients.
